“Go Big,” my brother suggested when I told him about my project idea, the book I started to write. These simple words moved me. The idea of being big was simmering in my mind just in the morning. And there were those words again, “Go Big.”

This got me thinking. How many of us play a small game? How many of us play big? How do we regard ourselves? If we think we are small and insignificant, that’s what we give and therefore that’s what we receive in the world. We play a small me part, what we think of is mostly about ourselves. Sure, our dreams might be big, but as long as we concentrate only about ourselves, we will not going to go far.

So, how can we shift our perspective? How can we live a bigger than ourselves life, play a bigger game?

First, let’s start from foundation that we built for ourselves. All our life up till now made who we are today: our lessons, our tribulations, our victories, our difficulties, our winnings. Whatever it was, we got to make a peace with our past: forgive, get rid of the stuff we no longer need. Recently, I got rid of my journal writings that do not serve me anymore. I think I kept them, so I would prove something to somebody. I do not need to prove anything. As I tore those pages, my heart became 100% lighter. We do not need our past weighing on our shoulders and definitely we do not need to carry them someplace in the drawer tucked in. We got to make a peace with our past and with ourselves. If not, this stuff will haunt us in our future decisions and might stop us in the tracks. We do not need that to go forward. (To help deal with it, you can read The Power of Now by Eckhart Tolle and look into Landmark Education. These are incredible resources.)

Next is to go for the dreams – no matter what. Dream as big as we can dream of. What’s the point of dreaming if you cannot dream big, right? Dreaming alone will not get us anywhere, though. We got to ACT on them. Little by little, day by day, step by step – Act on the dreams. Do not be afraid of failure. Failure is just a stepping stone for something coming up great. Need inspiration for action? Read Failing Forward by John C. Maxwell. This will help you to be brave all the step of the way.

These two steps mentioned above are just a prep for a third and the most important step of going Big, Huge, Gigantic: We got to INVOLVE as many people as we can – small people, big people and everything in between. We cannot accomplish anything just by thinking small (all about ourselves). As soon as we open the doors to others, help others, give others – we will start playing a bigger game – a world game. Do we want to make a world a better place? Let’s share our passions with it. Can you imagine a world full of passionate people? We have so much to give. Why are we keeping all to ourselves? We owe the world to show who we are, to help as many people as we can. By helping others, we’ll help ourselves. Let’s think for a moment in simple ways: when we smile, others can’t help but smile back. We water our flowers, and they smile back by giving us the most gorgeous blossoms. We give a kind word to a stranger, their smile makes us feel good, too. Universe works in mysterious ways. The key to giving is not expect anything in return, but universe also gives it back as long as we are open in receiving. Without expectation, we may be rewarded in other ways least expected.

So, let’s sum it all up. Let’s get rid of the last pains, make a peace with our past. Let’s build a new foundation of now and future by dreaming and DOING BIG! Let’s involve and help as many people as we can. Let’s think on worldly terms. (Advanced Course of Landmark is a great resource of that).

Deepak Chopra, Tim Ferris, John Assaraf and other great authors are HUGE because they help tons of people. Why am I any different? It is a time to play a BIG GAME.

Our minds are so super-busy, that they would not shut up when we lay down to sleep. They work over-time, like that energizer bunny: keeps going and going and going…

It’s great when our minds work to help us to achieve things, when we get a brilliant idea and go for it. Then sleepless nights are great.

However, what keeps most of us late at night is useless stuff:

1) “I’ll think about it” stuff;

2) Worries;

3) Uncompleted “To Do” lists.

Earlier that day, we see something in the store or online that we really like. We tell salesperson to put it on hold. Then, we rack our brains, “Should we get it? Do we really need it? But it looks so good.”… After thinking, we decide to go back and get it.

Now imagine if we do not need to “think about it” and buy it on the spot. By night, we would enjoy what we bought; we would avoid the aggravation of thinking; and at the end, we would save our time, salesperson’s time and gas. We would have a free mind and be able to sleep at night.

The key is if we like it, we should go for it right now, not later. Why to put our enjoyment on hold?

The most major useless thing that keep us late at night is worry. We worry about major things and minor things. We worry about health, money, family – you name it. Think about it… Does worry do anything good? It gives us headaches, sleepless nights, stomachaches, ulcers, unclear thinking, black circles under the eyes, nervous breakdowns, breathing problems, anger outbursts, depression. Nothing good comes out of worry. Worrying is usually looking at the worst case scenario of the situation.

So, instead of worry (that does not do any good), look at positive and find a solution. Granted, some problems are out of our control – might take awhile to solve. Some things we just have to let it be. However, most problems can be solved one way or another. With little innovation or different way of thinking, there is always a solution.

Instead of filling our minds with worry (that is hazardous to our health and sanity), how about to look at solutions.

To us that are busy-bodies, To-Do list is pretty essential. There are not enough hours in a day to accomplish everything we want. Therefore, the To-Do list is not finished – again. We regret not be able to accomplish it all. So now, we add undone items to tomorrow’s To-Do list, which probably will be unfinished – again. What we do not realize is that we have become over-achievers.

What if we would throw that To-Do list out of the window and concentrate on stuff that really matters to us. What if we do not depend on it anymore? What if instead of multi-tasking and overextending ourselves, we concentrate on one task at the time that is most important? Would life be so much easier?

At the end of the day, then we can breathe easier knowing we achieved what was important to us. It’s great to be imperfect. Without “To-Do” list, there is no more pressure to be perfect – in that, there is a peace of mind.

We got to get rid of the useless junk that clogs our mind. This way, we can make a space for more important stuff, like joy for life.

For more inspiration, you can log in to living on impulse to see what is possible.

Circumstances… What are they, anyway? Do they define who we are? Do they define our destiny? Do they control where and what we want to be? Or, they are just excuses in our mind not to do things we want to do?

There might be infinite circumstances (illness, financial problems, dysfunctional family, bad relationships, unfair work environment, difficult childhood, etc., etc.) that seemingly we cannot control. We go about life blaming our circumstances that we cannot achieve things we want to achieve.

We do not realize that all this is just voluntary blocks we put on our dreams. They are just excuses. It is so easy to blame our life’s circumstances. It seems so reasonable.

We all have our minds, right? So, why we let circumstances to control us instead we control our circumstances?

A few examples of people who despite very difficult times, achieved unbelievable are: Christopher Reeve, Oprah Winfrey, Coco Chanel, Ed Roberts, Chris Gardner.
