Rainy Day Art

It’s raining cats and dogs outside all day.  Most people usually curl up on the coach and hope that rain will stop soon.  However, as rain renews all the nature, and brings out all the color, the artsy people can make the best of it.  The rain creates magic if you look a bit closer.  Here are some photos I took to enjoy: This photo is of changing traffic light reflections

Now do not let rain stop you.  Go out and create magic.  Look at different angle, in different ways. See what can capture your imagination.

Remember how we loved to play in the rain as we were children.  What stops us to do that now?

When I Least Expect It…

Posted by ineta on Jun 18, 2010 in Little Things that matter, Wonderocity of Vision

Wonderful things happen when we least expect it.  I am speechless and thankful to John Pocino who wrote this about me and posted on CNN iReport.  Although we met just for a few short times, he read me as an open book:

“Today we are blessed with advances in technology that allows everyone to express themselves on their own level. The artist within comes Alive.

This technology allows other to create and demonstrate expressions that were trapped within the thoughts or each individual. It allows for personal growth and expression that couldn’t be achieved in the past. Anyone can purchase expensive equipment that enhances his or her work. Whether it be a Cannon 5D or the RED Camera.

But in the mist of all this technology, there is still the true artist. The one individual who takes a basic camera and creates. Creates more then pictures but create life. They only have to open their eyes to see the beauty of the world and push a button to capture that beauty for all to see.

Ineta McParland is such a person. I had the pleasure of viewing a new book that is being published.  While viewing the pages they seem to jump out at me and capture my imagination. It’s not that Sarasota is beautiful; it is that Ineta demonstrated through her eyes and through the lens what her heart sees in Sarasota.

She doesn’t own an expensive Cannon 5D, but with only a modest camera she uses her heart and soul to expose the beauty she sees. Her eyes are not just the windows of her soul but also the reflection of her heart. For each photo represents her love for life. An intellect would have to put mathematic equations to her style; they could not accept that the soul produces beauty that is unexplainable. Her decrypted writing enhances the vision she holds in her mine. She allows us the pleasure of experiencing her work and for that we are grateful.

There are other great photographers in the area, but I am talking about Ineta McParland. She brings beauty to the world and the people that surround her. And for that we are in a better place.

I would cherish the book with her autograph, and share it to other generations to view. It’s simple in design but complex in content.”

Baby Shower

Posted by ineta on Jun 8, 2010 in Little Things that matter, Wonderocity of Vision

On the way to the ranch, I saw unusual sight that warmed my heart.  A horse was lovingly licking a newborn calf sleeping in the grass.  That was so sweet.

What Your Daydreams are Made of?

Posted by ineta on Apr 11, 2010 in Wonderocity of Vision, Wonderocity-a-Day

We all do it – once or a few times per day or at least per week.  Our faces light up instantly.  We travel to our dream world, although we are totally awake.  We imagine what ifs, some days, if onlys.  We could be such a dreamers…

Now, do we do anything about our daydreams, or we dismiss them as such and go back to reality?  What is reality anyway?  We are the ones who create it for ourselves.  What if reality would be made of daydreams?  What if we would make our daydreams come true? What would it take?  Perhaps they are not that far as we think.  What if we would take a little step by step and cause a ripple effect of actions and connections to make our daydreams come true?  It might be a quitting job you hate, venturing out on your own, take up that dream job offer, impress a girl or guy of your dreams just by being yourself…  Options are limitless.

All you have to do is:

1.  Believe in yourself,

2.  Trust your instincts,

3.  Do not take “No” for an answer,

4.  Keep going no matter what,

5.  Share your dreams with others.  Communication is the key.  You never know perhaps someone knows someone who might be able to help you.

Daydreams might not be as far as we think.  They may come true if we put some action in them.

How to see like a cat?

Posted by ineta on Feb 7, 2010 in Wonderocity of Vision, Wonderocity-a-Day

Do you ever wonder how cats see everything?   Every single movement does not go undetected.  They stalk, they wait…  The timing is everything…

I always thought I have a cat’s vision.  When I am out in nature, I see many things that people easily miss.  That helps me with my photography.  I love to capture the moments, the beauty, simple things that turn extraordinary when you look at them at different angle.

Here are excerpts that I found interesting from the book “The Vision.  The Dramatic True Story of One Man’s Profound Relationship with Nature” by Tom Brown, JR.  It sums up the way I see the world.

“Break the routine of everyday living.  Look at the world in a new way.  Instead of focusing on one point in the landscape, take in the entire picture while remaining aware of all its elements.  This technique of extending our visual reach to the limits of our peripheral vision opened up the sensory world.  By taking in the grand picture, our ability to pick up movement increases.  This is the vision of animals and people attuned to the earth, and accounts for why they see us before we see them.  Using the grand vision, picture at night also opens a better night vision.”

“Avoid automatic vision.  When looking at area for second time, focus on different points missed previously (the blind spots).  Look around, even to the obscure areas.  Always look at life as if you have never seen it before, using all your senses as if for the first time.”

It’s amazing how the world opens up when you see it in different way.
